Readying for Opening the Patch

Volunteers will be needed to get Papa’s Pumpkin Patch ready for opening day on September 13, 2009. A Community Labor Event is planned for Saturday, August 22, followed by a Thank You Dinner for all who participated in the May 31 Drop-Off event and the Labor event.

Watch for more information on how you can commit to provide a little love and labor for the Patch that has given us all so much!

Cash donations and new and gently used items will be accepted at our Drop-Off day from 1-5 p.m. on May 31 at Jaycee’s Centennial Park, Bismarck. Below is the Wish List Papa’s Pumpkin Patch provided us. Please remember cash donations and checks made out to “Patching the Patch” are also being accepted at American Bank Center, Bismarck, and all cash will be used to purchase “Patch-specific” items (see note at bottom of wish list). Cash donations can also be mailed to Patching the Patch, 1822 Xavier St, Bismarck ND 58501.

Events – Community Giving Back

In spite of the fire losses, Papa’s Pumpkin Patch is committed to opening as scheduled on Sun., Sept. 13, 2009. Friends of the Pumpkin Patch can help them rebuild in several different ways. “Patching the Patch” events include the following:

Sun., May 31, 2009: Donate gently used or new items at the “Patching the Patch” Drop-Off Day, 1-5 p.m. at Jaycee Centennial Park, Century Ave. at 4th St. in Bismarck.

Cash donations are being accepted at all American Bank Center locations. Cash donations can also be mailed to Patching the Patch, 1822 Xavier St, Bismarck ND 58501.

People donating items or a cash of any size will receive a ticket to the August 22 Appreciation Party hosted by the Patch families.

Sat., Aug. 22, 2009: Help prepare for the Sept. 13 opening by volunteering to do any of a number of types of labor at the Pumpkin Patch between noon and 5 p.m.

An Appreciation Party begins at 5, hosted by the Patch families.

Patching the Patch – Drop-Off Event – May 31

For 27 years, Papa’s Pumpkin Patch has been an important source of FUN for families and FUNDING for local charities. A fire on April 29, 2009, destroyed a large building containing critical equipment and supplies. The Pumpkin Patch is committed to opening on schedule Sept. 13, 2009, and friends of the Pumpkin Patch are working to help replace what was lost in the fire.

Patching the Patch is holding a Drop-Off event on Sunday, May 31 from 1-5 p.m. at Jaycee Centennial Park in Bismarck. Papa’s Pumpkin Patch has provided a wish list of items lost in the fire. Gently used or new items will be welcomed at the event, along with cash donations. Cash donations and checks made out to “Patching the Patch” are also being accepted at American Bank Center, Bismarck.
