BIG Thanks to Drop-Day Donations Givers

June 1, 2009

img_0259Patching the Patch would like to thank all those who took the time to come out to the Drop-Day event on May 31 and make a donation to Papa’s Pumpkin Patch. The Patch families were very grateful for the thoughtful donations that ranged from tools and yard equipment to hoses, storage totes and cash.

IT’S NOT TO LATE TO GET INVOLVED
The items gathered at the Drop-Day event are a start to getting the Patch ready for opening day on September 13, but more community support is needed. You can still help the Patch by donating:

  • DOLLARS – Cash donations for Patching the Patch are being accepted at all American Bank Center locations. Cash donations can also be mailed to Patching the Patch, 1822 Xavier St, Bismarck ND 58501.
  • STUFF – Items found on Papa’s Wish List are still needed. If you’d like to donate stuff please contact Jane Greer at 701-258-2747 to make arrangements.
  • LABOR – Muscles are still needed for the Patching the Patch labor event to be held on August 22. If you’d like your name added to our call for volunteers email notification list, please email Patching the Patch with your contact information.

Thanks again to all those who’ve already donated and to those who are about to get involved. You are truly part of the effort that will help bring all that Patch magic back to live this fall!

Patching the Patch – Drop-Off Event – May 31

May 19, 2009

For 27 years, Papa’s Pumpkin Patch has been an important source of FUN for families and FUNDING for local charities. A fire on April 29, 2009, destroyed a large building containing critical equipment and supplies. The Pumpkin Patch is committed to opening on schedule Sept. 13, 2009, and friends of the Pumpkin Patch are working to help replace what was lost in the fire.

Patching the Patch is holding a Drop-Off event on Sunday, May 31 from 1-5 p.m. at Jaycee Centennial Park in Bismarck. Papa’s Pumpkin Patch has provided a wish list of items lost in the fire. Gently used or new items will be welcomed at the event, along with cash donations. Cash donations and checks made out to “Patching the Patch” are also being accepted at American Bank Center, Bismarck.

For more information about Patching the Patch, please contact Sandy McMerty at 701-425-6518.
