April 29, 2009: Fire destroys main storage building

On Wed., April 29, the large metal building that served as the Pumpkin Patch’s sales barn and equipment and supply storage area was completely destroyed by a fire.

The good news is that no person, animal, or home was harmed. Even the little cat who lived in the building turned up to visit later in the day.

However, the fire destroyed about $200,000 worth of critical Pumpkin Patch equipment and supplies, including two tractors and all seeds, shovels, rakes, gloves, and similar necessary items.
